Wolverines with second win at Virgin Islands

ST. THOMAS, V.I. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team finished off a successful trip to the Caribbean with a second win over the University of the Virgin Islands Saturday in St. Thomas.

The Wolverines battled through foul trouble, getting contributions from the bench to secure a 76-67 win over the Bucs. The victory keeps UM-Dearborn perfect at 4-0 on the season.

Cody Kegley led the Wolverines with 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting while adding six rebounds, six assists, and four steals. Elwood Tomlinson came off the bench to add 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting, while Reid Sellers added 10 points and six rebounds.

The Wolverines shot 29-of-52 from the field, 8-of-17 from deep and 10-of-14 from the line, while outrebounding UVI 32-31.

The Bucs were led by Keith Gilmore for a second straight night with a game-high 28 points.

UM-Dearborn returns to action in an exhibition contest against NCAA Division I foe Central Michigan University at 7:30 pm Tuesday in Mt. Pleasant, Mich.
