Early Warrior run too much for Wolverines

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team fell behind early and was unable to recover in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest Wednesday in Fort Wayne, Ind.

The Wolverines (RV) trailed 24-5 midway through the first half and the Warriors cruised to a 65-39 win. The loss is the third straight for the Wolverines, who fall to 13-7 overall and 6-4 in the WHAC.

Jalen Paul scored a team-high nine points for the Wolverines, while Damian Forrest added seven points. Jason Gigliotti recorded a team-high eight rebounds.

The Wolverines shot 14-of-52 from the field, 4-of-18 from deep and 7-of-11 from the line.

Cory McKinney led the Warriors with 15 points, while Josh Kilne added 12 points and six rebounds.

UM-Dearborn has a week off before traveling to Aquinas College at 7:30 pm next Wednesday in Grand Rapids, Mich.
