UM-Dearborn opens trip with 76-60 win

ST. THOMAS, V.I. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team pulled away in the second half for a win over the University of the Virgin Islands in the opener of the team's trip to the Caribbean Friday in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.

The Wolverines held a narrow lead after the first half but outscored the Bucs by 13 after the break to earn a 76-60 win to remain perfect and push their record to 3-0 to start the season.

Cody Kegley led the Wolverines with 22 points on 7-of-11 shooting while making four 3-pointers. Zach Lattimer finished with 16 points, including five 3-pointers, while Jalen Paul added 11 points and four assists.

The Wolverines shot 27-of-57 from the field, 13-of-27 from deep and 9-of-17 from the lines while recording 15 assists and 15 turnovers.

Keith Gilmore scored a game-high 27 points to lead UVI.

The two teams play one more at 7:30 pm on Saturday
