Wolverines stumble in 61-58 loss to Saints

ADRIAN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team fell to Siena Heights University in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest Saturday in Adrian, Mich.

The Wolverines led by 10 early in the second half, but the Saints chipped away and took the lead 50-48 with under five minutes to play. Damian Forrest made three layups late to keep the Wolverines close, and a late 3-pointer from Elwood Tomlinson cut the Saint lead to one in the closing minutes.

The Saints were able to hold on to secure a 61-58 win. The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 15-11 overall and 8-8 in the WHAC with four regular-season games remaining. The Wolverines are currently in seventh place in the league, but just a game back of fourth.

Tomlinson led the Wolverines with 14 points and four 3-pointers, while Cody Kegley added 11 points and six assists. Jason Gigliotti added eight points and eight rebounds in the loss.

UM-Dearborn shot 24-of-60 from the field, 8-of-28 from deep and 2-of-4 at the line.

DeMarco Dickerson led the Saints with a game-high 27 points and added 10 rebounds for a double-double.

The Wolverines return home for three straight starting against Concordia University at 7:30 pm Wednesday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
