Wolverines fall short against Warriors 92-79

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team dropped a home Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest to Rochester University Wednesday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.

The Wolverines cut an early deficit to four with a buzzer-beating 3-pointer from Zach Lattimer at the end of the half, but Rochester used the outside shot to build a lead as big as 14 points in the second half. UM-Dearborn attempted to rally, cutting the Warrior advantage to seven with two minutes to play.

Rochester shot 55.8 percent from the field and held on late to take a 92-79 win. The loss drops UM-Dearborn 13-10 overall and 6-7 in the WHAC.

Jason Gigliotti led the Wolverines with 24 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double. Elwood Tomlinson added 18 points off the bench, including four 3-pointers, while Jalen Paul finished with 15 points and six assists. Cody Kegley chipped in with 12 points.

The Wolverines shot 30-of-60 from the field, 8-of-20 from deep and 11-of-15 from the line.

Peter Agba led the Warriors with 22 points and eight rebounds.

The Wolverines close their three-game homestand against Lawrence Tech at 3 pm Saturday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
