No. 21 Wolverines roll to WHAC win over Saints

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball opened the New Year with a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference win over Siena Heights University Saturday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.

The No. 21 Wolverines used a 12-0 run at the end of the first half to take a 23-point lead into the break. UM-Dearborn cruised in the second half to earn a 77-55 victory to keep pace at the top of the WHAC standings.

The win pushes UM-Dearborn to 13-4 overall and 6-1 in the WHAC, a half of a game behind Lourdes University for the top spot in the standings.

Five Wolverines scored in double figures led by 16 points off the bench from Elwood Tomlinson, who converted on three 3-point shots.

Damian Forrest added a double-double off the bench with 10 points and 12 rebounds, while Cody Kegley finished with 12 points. Zach Lattimer and Mathew Mignault each recorded 11 points in the win.

UM-Dearborn shot 27-of-64 from the field, 10-of-25 from deep and 13-of-16 at the line. The Wolverines dominated the glass with a 46-29 advantage in rebounds.

The Saints were held to just 34. 5 percent shooting and were led by 22 points from DeMarco Dickerson.

The Wolverines host Madonna University (RV) at 7:30 pm Wednesday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
