Dunn, Ames named WHAC Players of the Week

DEARBORN, Mich. – The No. 2 University of Michigan-Dearborn men's hockey team swept the University of Toledo, extending its winning streak to 16 games to close out the regular season.

On Friday, UM-Dearborn scored early to secure a 13-1 victory, before scoring twice in the third period of a 5-3 win on the road to complete the sweep.

As a result, the Wolverines swept the weekly Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference awards once again. Junior Dustin earned his second WHAC Offensive Player of the Week award, while sophomore John Ames won the WHAC Defensive Player of the Week, also for the second time this season.

Dunn recorded five goals and three assists over the weekend, highlighted by a four-goal and six-point performance on Friday. Ames pitched in offensively as well, recording one goal and one assist in the two-game sweep. Ames was plus-6 in his ice time in the opener.

The Wolverines return to action in the WHAC Postseason Tournament at 3 pm Saturday, March 9 at the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena.
