Proudlock wins third WHAC honor of the season

DEARBORN, Mich. – For the third time this season, junior University of Michigan-Dearborn men's ice hockey goaltender Thomas Proudlock has earned a weekly conference award, it was announced Tuesday.

Proudlock, a native of Southgate, Mich., made 37 saves for the No. 2 Wolverines, who came away with a tie (3-2 shootout loss) against No. 3 Adrian College, the defending ACHA DI National Champions, Saturday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.

For his efforts, Proudlock has been named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

Proudlock stood tall against a barrage of shots late in regulation and helped the Wolverines kill off a 4-3 power play in overtime to preserve the draw. In 12 appearances, Proudlock is 10-1-1 with a career-best 1.93 goals against average and a .934 save percentage.

The award is the third of the season for Proudlock and the sixth by a student-athlete from UM-Dearborn men's ice hockey in 2018-19.

UM-Dearborn returns to action for two games against No. 6 Davenport University starting at 5:35 pm Friday at Patterson Ice Arena in Grand Rapids, Mich.
