Brock, Proudlock take WHAC honors after Calvin sweep

DEARBORN, Mich. – The No. 2 University of Michigan-Dearborn men's hockey team swept Calvin College in a weekend home-and-home series, surrendering one goal in the two games.

On Friday, UM-Dearborn scored early to secure a 6-0 shutout victory before adding an empty-netter in the final moments of a 3-1 win on the road to complete the sweep.

As a result, the Wolverines swept the weekly Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference awards for the fourth time this season. Sophomore Bill Brock earned his third WHAC Offensive Player of the Week award, while junior Thomas Proudlock won the WHAC Defensive Player of the Week for the fifth time and his second straight.

As a team, the Wolverines have won eight offensive and six defensive honors from the WHAC in 2018-19.

Brock recorded a goal and two assists on Friday, bringing his season totals to 12 goals, 38 assists, and 50 points.

Proudlock earned his third shutout of the season on Friday and improved to 17-2-1 in net. Proudlock recorded a combined 35 saves in two games.

The Wolverines return to action against Concordia University in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup at 7 pm on Friday at the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena.
