Wolverines outlast Gray Wolves for WHAC win

SYLVANIA, Ohio – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team completed a season sweep of Lourdes University with a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference win Wednesday in Sylvania, Ohio.

The Wolverines withstood a rally from the Gray Wolves in the third quarter and took over in the fourth to earn a 62-53 road win. The victory pushes UM-Dearborn to 14-11 overall and 7-8 in the WHAC.

Mariah Taylor led the Wolverine offense with 14 points, including four 3-pointers. AJ Fullerton continued her strong play of late with 11 points and a pair of 3-pointers. Rachel Bause recorded a team-high nine rebounds and Ro'Zhane Wells finished with seven assists.

UM-Dearborn shot 22-of-66 from the field, 11-of-35 from deep and 7-of-12 from the line, outrebounding Lourdes 46-40.

The Gray Wolves ­­­were held to 28 percent shooting from the field. Hunter Kershaw was the lone scorer in double figures for Lourdes with 10 points.

UM-Dearborn travels to Siena Heights University at 3 pm Saturday in Adrian, Mich.
