Wolverines fall to Thomas More on the road

CRESTVIEW, Ky. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team traveled south to take on Thomas More University Saturday in Crestview, Ky.

The Saints jumped out to a 17-point lead at the half and outscored the No. 22 Wolverines by 18 in the third on their way to an 85-50 win. The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 4-2 overall this season with the start of Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference season on Wednesday

The Wolverines were led by Laekyn Jaciuk with 13 points, while Ro'Zhane Wells added seven points and six assists. Jasia Caldwell finished with a team-high 10 rebounds for UM-Dearborn. Maricela Macias and Sade Lemons, in her first game of the season, recorded seven points each off the bench.

The Wolverines shot 19-of-67 from the field, 5-of-29 from deep and 7-of-10 from the line.

Emily Schultz led the Saints with 15 points, while Courtney Hurst and Zoie Barth each added 14 points.

The Wolverines open the WHAC season against Aquinas College at 5:30 pm Wednesday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
