DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team scored 30 points in the third quarter to take control of a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup with Rochester University Wednesday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.

The Wolverines were held to five points in the second and trailed by three points at the break, but UM-Dearborn found its range for deep, hitting eight 3-pointers in the third, including five in the first 3:30 to build a double-digit lead.

UM-Dearborn held off a late Rochester rally and earned a 66-53 win to move to 13-10 overall and 6-7 in the WHAC.

The Wolverines were 8-of-10 from deep in the third led by three 3-pointers from Lauryn Carroll, who finished with 14 points. Mariah Taylor led UM-Dearborn in scoring with 17 points off the bench, including a pair of 3-pointers in the fourth to help the Wolverines pull away.

Cydney Williams added 11 points, five rebounds, and two blocks, while Rachel Bause narrowly missed a double-double, recording nine points, 10 rebounds, and four blocks. Kayla Knight chipped in with nine points and two blocks.

The Wolverines shot 23-of-64 from the field, 13-of-34 from deep and 7-of-12 at the line.

Lexey Tobel led the Warriors with 12 points, while Devan Valko added 11 points.

UM-Dearborn plays its third straight game at home, as the Wolverines host Lawrence Tech (RV) at 1 pm Saturday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
