Cardinals tops Wolverine women 61-53

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team traveled to take on the Concordia University Cardinals in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup Tuesday in Ann Arbor, Mich.

The No. 22 Wolverines trailed by one point after three quarters, but the Cardinals outscored UM-Dearborn 15-8 in the fourth quarter to secure the win, 61-53. The loss drops the Wolverines to 5-4 overall and 1-2 in the WHAC.

UM-Dearborn was led by Mariah Taylor with 14 points, while Maricela Macias added 10 points and five assists. Rachel Bause finished with a career-high 15 rebounds, while Ro'Zhane Wells added eight points and six rebounds for the Wolverines.

UM-Dearborn shot 19-of-65 from the field, 6-of-33 from deep and 9-of-12 from the line.

Tris'styn Williams led Concordia with a game-high 18 points, while Katie Snow added 16 points.

The Wolverines return to action against Indiana University-East at "The Show" NAIA Basketball Showcase at 12:45 pm Saturday at the Meadowview Conference & Resort Center in Kingsport, Tenn.
