Fourth-Quarter Burst Leads Wolverines to Win

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team completed the season sweep of Cornerstone University with a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference win Saturday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.

The Wolverines ran away in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Golden Eagles by 18 on their way to a 69-41 win. The victory pushes UM-Dearborn to 12-10 overall and 5-7 in the WHAC.

UM-Dearborn pulled away on the strength of three 3-pointers from Mariah Taylor early in the fourth, as Taylor was one of five Wolverines to score in double figures with 10 points.

Ro'Zhane Wells finished with 11 points, four rebounds, and five assists, while Lauryn Carroll added 11 points, five rebounds, and three steals. Cydney Williams recorded 10 points, seven rebounds, and five blocks. Sade Lemons came off the bench to add 10 points and six rebounds.

The Wolverines shot 22-of-74 from the field, 10-of-39 from deep and 15-of-24 from the line.

Cornerstone was held to 13 made field goals, as Rebekah Crosby led the Golden Eagles with nine points.

UM-Dearborn remains home to host Rochester University in a WHAC matchup at 5:30 pm Wednesday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
