UNOH tops UM-Dearborn in OT 82-81

LIMA, Ohio – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team lost a back-and-forth overtime contest in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action at the University of Northwestern Ohio Saturday in Lima, Ohio.

The Wolverines tied the game late in regulation on a pair of free throws from Sade Lemons to send the game to an extra period. Lemons hit a 3-pointer with 1:20 left in overtime to give UM-Dearborn a three-point lead, and after UNOH tied it up, a layup from Lemons made it 81-79 in favor of the Wolverines with 49 seconds on the clock.

UM-Dearborn missed a pair of free throws with 19 seconds remaining and Tya Bell hit a game-winning 3-pointer in the closing seconds to secure the win for the Racers. The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 11-8 overall and 4-5 in the WHAC.

All five starters finished in double figures for the Wolverines, led by 16 points, nine rebounds and five assists for Mariah Taylor. Ro'Zhane Wells added 15 points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals, while Lemons finished with 14 points and eight rebounds.

Kayla Knight hit four 3-pointers to finish with 12 points and seven rebounds, while Cydney Williams added 12 points and eight rebounds.

The Wolverines shot 29-of-73 from the field, 11-of-39 from deep and 12-of-21 from the line, outrebounding the Racers 50-47.

UNOH was led by a game-high 30 points from Tori Lennartz.

UM-Dearborn travels to Indiana Tech to close the first half of the WHAC schedule at 6 pm Wednesday in Fort Wayne, Ind.
