Aquinas holds off UM-Dearborn rally

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team opened the second half of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference season against Aquinas College Wednesday at the Sturrus Center in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The Wolverines rallied late, outscoring the Saints by seven in the fourth, but Aquinas held on for a 60-55 win. The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 11-10 overall and 4-7 in the WHAC.

Ro'Zhane Wells led the Wolverines with 16 points and seven assists. Mariah Taylor added 12 points, while Cydney Williams recorded 10 points and seven rebounds.

The Wolverines shot 20-of-56 from the field, 8-of-28 from deep and 7-of-14 from the line.

Marissa Brady led the Saints with 13 points and eight rebounds, while Daz'Sha Day added 12 points.

The Wolverines return home to host Cornerstone University at 1 pm Saturday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
