UM-Dearborn falls to Ohio Christian 75-66

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team stepped out of league play to host Ohio Christian University Thursday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.

The Wolverines were unable to stop the offense of Stacie Pertuset as the Trailblazers held off a UM-Dearborn rally and escaped with a 75-66 win. The loss is the second straight for the Wolverines and drops UM-Dearborn 9-6 overall this season.

Down eight at the half, UM-Dearborn rallied to take a 63-62 lead with five minutes to play. Pertuset came away with a couple of steals to spark an 8-0 run by OCU to put the game away late.

The Wolverines were led by 12 points and five rebounds from Mariah Taylor, while Rachel Bause narrowly missed a double-double with nine points and 12 rebounds off the bench. AJ Fullerton hit three 3-pointers to finish with nine points, while Jasia Caldwell added eight points and 10 rebounds.

The Wolverines shot 20-of-68 from the field, 9-of-34 from deep and 17-of-25 at the line.

Pertuset led the Trailblazers with 29 points on 10-of-21 shooting while racking up 11 steals for a double-double.

The Wolverines conclude the calendar year with a trip to Spring Arbor University at 1 pm Saturday in Spring Arbor, Mich.
