UM-Dearborn falls in WHAC First Round

DEARBORN, Mich. – A historic season for the University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team came to a close in the first round of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament Wednesday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.

After taking a 22-19 lead at the end of the first quarter, the Wolverines were held to 23 points the rest of the way as Rochester College advanced to the WHAC semifinals with a 56-45 win. UM-Dearborn (RV) closes the season with a record of 24-7 overall, the most wins in program history.

Rochester opened the game with a 9-2 run before UM-Dearborn found its range from deep, hitting three 3-pointers in the first quarter and went on to lead 32-30 at the half. The Warriors took control in the third, outscoring the Wolverines 17-5.

Sade Lemons led the Wolverines with 12 points, while Jeorgia Jones added 10 points and seven rebounds.

UM-Dearborn shot 16-of-57 from the field, 4-of-20 from deep and 9-of-17 from the free-throw line.

Rio Dudgeon led the Warriors with 14 points, including four 3-pointers, while adding 12 rebounds for a double-double.
