Wolverines top Tigers for 4th straight win

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team stepped out of conference play to take on Grace Christian University Wednesday in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The Wolverines pulled away in the second quarter and held on for a 71-53 win to move to 8-1 overall this season.

Reigning Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Player of the Week Sade Lemons continued to lead UM-Dearborn offensively, scoring a game-high 18 points, all from deep, as she hit six 3-pointers.

Freshman Ro'Zhane Wells filled up the stat sheet with 13 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, and six steals. Junior Jeorgia Jones narrowly missed a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds, while sophomore Cydney Williams recorded eight points and six rebounds.

The Wolverines shot 26-of-74 from the field, 9-of-29 from deep and 10-of-15 from the line, while winning the rebounding the battle 47-37.

The Tigers were led by Brandy Weaver with 11 points and Briana Noordyk added 10 points.

UM-Dearborn returns to WHAC play against Concordia University at 1 pm Saturday, Dec. 1 at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
