Wolverines win 20th game of the season

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team won its 20th game of the season topping Lourdes University in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest Saturday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.

The No. 23 Wolverines, who continue to set new standards for success with each win, stormed out to a 45-17 lead at the half with eight 3-pointers before the break. The UM-Dearborn defense continued to stifle the Gray Wolves the rest of the way to earn the 69-37 win, the fourth straight for the Wolverines.

 UM-Dearborn moves to 20-4 overall and 12-3 in the WHAC with five games remaining in the conference regular season. The Wolverines are in second place, three games behind No. 3 Indiana Tech and a half game up on Aquinas College.

Sade Lemons led the Wolverine offense with six 3-pointers, five in the first half, to finish with 18 points on 6-of-11 shooting. Jeorgia Jones narrowly missed a double-double with 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting, while adding eight rebounds. Ro'Zhane Wells finished with nine points, four assists, and two blocks.

The Wolverines shot 25-of-56 from the field, 11-of-23 from deep and 8-of-13 at the line, while outrebounding the Gray Wolves 37-35.

Lourdes was led by Sydney Miller with nine points off the bench.

The Wolverines remain home to welcome Lawrence Tech (RV) in a crucial WHAC contest at 5:30 pm Wednesday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
