No. 20 UM-Dearborn tops CUAA 79-69

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team took control in the fourth quarter of a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference win over Concordia University Saturday in Ann Arbor, Mich.

The Cardinals rallied with 28 points in the third quarter to tie the game heading to the fourth, but UM-Dearborn took control the rest of the way. The Wolverines opened the fourth on an 11-3 run and secured the 79-69 win late with two layups from Sade Lemons.

The No. 20 Wolverines move to 18-4 overall and 10-3 in the WHAC, setting a new program record for conference wins in a season, breaking a tie with the 2012-13 team.

Lemons led the Wolverines with 17 points on 7-of-9 shooting, while Ro'Zhane Wells added 12 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Cydney Williams narrowly missed a double-double with 11 points, eight rebounds, four steals and three blocks.

Laekyn Jaciuk and Lauryn Carroll each finished with nine points, while Micah White and Jeorgia Jones each added eight points.

The Wolverines shot 28-of-57 from the field, 6-of-12 from deep and 17-of-26 from the line.

Katie Snow led the Cardinals with 17 points and seven rebounds, while Tris'styn Williams added 12 points.

The Wolverines return home for a crucial WHAC matchup with (RV) Siena Heights University at 5:30 pm Wednesday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse. UM-Dearborn is a half-game ahead of the Saints for second place in the WHAC standings.
