No. 22 Wolverines surge past Comets 85-53

OLIVET, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team won its fourth straight game, topping NCAA Division III opponent Olivet College 85-53 Thursday in Olivet, Mich.

The No. 22 Wolverines stormed in front 23-11 after the first and put the Comets away in the third, holding the home team to just five points in the frame. The win moves UM-Dearborn to 13-2 overall.

The Wolverines controlled the pace of the game, outrebounding the Comets 64-34 while attempting 89 field goals and forcing 18 Olivet turnovers.

Jeorgia Jones led the Wolverines with a double-double, scoring 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting while grabbing a team-high 11 rebounds. Lauryn Carroll finished with 14 points and a team-high five assists, while Cydney Williams added 12 points and six rebounds.

The Wolverines shot 34-of-89 from the field, 6-of-33 from deep and 11-of-14 from the line.

Shawnee Dame led the Comets with 11 points, while Fayth Talbert added 10.

UM-Dearborn plays its final game of the calendar year against Bethel College at 1 pm Saturday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
