UM-Dearborn rolls to win over Trailblazers

CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio – The No. 22 University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team continued to roll with a win over the Ohio Christian University Trailblazers in a nonconference matchup on Saturday in Circleville, Ohio.

The Wolverines outscored the Trailblazers by 20 in the second quarter on their way to a 91-63 win. The second victory over OCU this season pushes UM-Dearborn to 12-2 overall.

Junior Jeorgia Jones led the Wolverines with 18 points on 9-of-11 shooting. Sophomore Cydney Williams added 15 points, shooting 7-for-8 from the field, while freshman Lauryn Carroll finished with 14.

Natalie Spala led the UM-Dearborn bench with 11 points, while Micah White added a team-high 13 rebounds.

The Wolverines shot 38-for-79 from the field, 5-of-31 from long range and 10-of-16 from the line. UM-Dearborn dominated the rebounding battle 43-24, while recording 15 assists and 11 steals.

The Trailblazers were paced offensively by Staci Dinsmor and Helaina Limas with 13 points each.

UM-Dearborn continues nonconference play at 7 pm on Thursday against Olivet College in Olivet, Mich.
