Byrd and Stanley Sweep WHAC Weekly Awards

DEARBORN, Mich. -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's ice hockey team swept the first week of Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference weekly awards. Bailey Byrd took Offensive Player of the Week, while Ryan Stanley won Defensive Player of the Week after sweeping Rochester Christian University. The league announced on Monday (Sept. 23).

Byrd, the WHAC's reigning Player of the Year, picked up right where he left off as he scored two goals and dished out five assists, including a four-assist game. Byrd led the Wolverines with seven points in the team's two games this week.

Stanley, a First Team All-Conference defenseman the year before, looked to improve upon his successful freshman campaign. He scored and assisted on three separate goals, giving him four points on the week.

The Wolverines are back on October 3rd as they take on Calvin University.
