Women's Basketball Loses to Lawrence Tech

Southfield, MI - The women's basketball team took on the 17th ranked Lawrence Tech Blue Devils on Wednesday night. In the first quarter Michigan-Dearborn (1-27, 1-20) played tough as Lawrence Tech (21-3, 18-3) held a 15-14 lead heading into the second quarter. In the second quarter, Lawrence Tech got hot shooting as the Blue Devils scored 27 points in the quarter in taking a 42-26 lead into halftime.

In the third quarter, Michigan-Dearborn shot the ball well and played tough defense as the Wolverines closed the gap to ten points heading into the final quarter. Lawrence Tech, however, continued to shoot lights out in the fourth quarter as the Blue Devils scored 26 points in the fourth quarter in winning 86-53. The Blue Devils made 11 three-pointers in the game and shot 61% from beyond the arc. The Wolverines shot 39% for the game and were outrebounded 37-26 in the game.

Sophomore Marisa Sauve led Michigan-Dearborn with 15 points and 5 rebounds while fellow sophomore Megan Swick added 11 points and 4 rebounds. The women's basketball team will finish the season at home on Saturday as they play host to the Aquinas College Saints at 1:00pm.
