Women's Basketball Comes up Short Against Grace Bible

Dearborn, MI - The women's basketball team lost a close game Monday night falling 76-71 to the Grace Bible Tigers at the field house. It was a game where each team went a few offensive runs. Michigan-Dearborn (0-11, 0-6) opened the game up on a 12-4 run. Grace Bible (8-0) then rattled off seven consecutive points to pull within one point and then eventually tied the game late in the first quarter. The Wolverines ended the quarter on a 10-2 run taking a 25-17 lead at the quarter break.

Michigan-Dearborn extended the lead to 14 midway through the second quarter, but the Tigers got hot offensively scoring 19 points in the last five minutes of the quarter to take a 38-36 lead at halftime.

The second half opened up with the Wolverines going on a 14-2 run to open up a ten point lead with just over three minutes left in the third quarter. During the run freshman Arryn Dochenetz scored six of her team high 18 points. Grace Bible cut the Michigan-Dearborn lead to five at the end of the third quarter.

Grace Bible took a two point lead with five minutes left in the game. and Michigan-Dearborn could not get any closer as the Tigers made six free throws down the stretch to win 76-71. Dochenetz led the Wolverines with 18 points and sophomore Marisa Sauve had a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. The women's basketball team is off until Saturday, December 12th when they travel to Adrian, MI to take on the Siena Heights Saints at 7:30pm.
