Women's Basketball Loses to Albion at Crisler Center

Ann Arbor, MI - The women's basketball team played at the Crisler Center on Saturday against the Albion College Britons. The game was the first of three college basketball games at the Crisler Center as UofM-Ann Arbor's women's team played at 2:30pm against Miami, Ohio and the Ann Arbor men's team took on Youngstown State in the final game of the day. Michigan-Dearborn (0-13, 0-7) jumped out to an early 4-0 lead, but Albion would score 18 of the next 22 points to take a 16-8 lead after the first quarter. Albion (2-7) continued to play stifling defense in the second quarter as the Wolverines shot 18% from the field in the first half. The Britons, meanwhille, shot 48% in the first half as they opened up a 41-18 lead at halftime.

The second half saw Michigan-Dearborn shoot better, 30%, but unfortunately for the Wolverines, Albion also improved their shooting percentage as the Britons shot an amazing 62% in the second half in winning the game 88-47. Albion had four players in double digits and were led by Sophia Sanfilippo who had 19 points and went 8 for 9 shooting. The Wolverines were led by freshman Arryn Dochenetz who had 14 points and 2 blocks in the game. Four other Wolverines, including sophomore Marissa Sauve, each had 6 points.
