Indiana Tech Defeats Women's Basketball

Fort Wayne, IN - The women's basketball team traveled to Fort Wayne on Saturday to take on the Indiana Tech Warriors. Michigan-Dearborn jumped out to an early 5-0 lead, but Indiana Tech scored the game's next six points to take the lead. The two teams went back and forth and with the game tied at 9, the Warriors went on a 9-1 run to take an 18-10 lead after the first quarter. Foul trouble plagued Michigan-Dearborn as Indiana Tech opened up an 18 point lead in the second quarter. The Warriors would lead 39-23 at halftime. Michigan-Dearborn (0-6, 0-3) made just eight field goals in the first half while Indiana Tech (4-3, 2-1) made 13 field goals including 6 three-pointers.

The second half saw Indiana Tech continue to shoot the ball well which led to a 61-32 lead after the third quarter. Michigan-Dearborn continued to play hard trying to chip away at the lead, but Indiana Tech was too much as the Warriors won 80-43. The Wolverines were led by freshman Kendall Rose who had 14 points and 8 rebounds. Freshman Emily Heinrich worked hard on the glass grabbing 9 rebounds in the game. The women's basketball team will travel to Sylvania, Ohio on Tuesday to take on Lourdes University at 5:30pm.
