Cornerstone Downs Women's Basketball 71-45

Dearborn, MI - The women's basketball team dropped a WHAC game to the visiting Cornerstone Golden Eagles 71-45 on Saturday. Cornerstone (5-5, 4-2) jumped out to a 10-0 lead to start the game and continued to stretch the lead throughout the game. Michigan-Dearborn (0-10, 0-6) shot 27% in the first half and could not overcome the early 10-0 deficit. The Wolverines were able to cut the lead to six after the first quarter, but the Golden Eagles outscored Michigan-Dearborn 18-9 in the second quarter to take a 37-22 lead at halftime.

Cornerstone began the second half much like the first half going on a 16-0 run to begin the third quarter. The Golden Eagles outscored the Wolverines 26-9 in the third quarter. The Wolverines showed their tenacity by outscoring Cornerstone 14-8 in the fourth quarter but fell 71-45. Freshman Kendall Rose led the Wolverines with 18 points and 7 rebounds. The women's basketball team will host Grace Bible on Monday, December 7th at 6:00pm.
