DEARBORN, Mich. -- Amy Palaian of the University of Michigan-Dearborn women's ice hockey team was named to the United States Women's National University Team, which will compete at the upcoming 2025 Winter World University Games from January 13th to 23rd in Torino, Italy, the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) announced today.
Palaian made the roster, which includes 23 players representing 11 different states and schools and comprises players competing in ACHA Women's Division I. This is the seventh time the United States has fielded a women's hockey team at the Winter World University Games, the first since 2019. Team USA has won the Bronze Medal twice at the 2013 games and again in 2017.
Team USA will compete in Group A alongside the Czech Republic, Japan, and Kazakhstan. The Ice Hockey competitions will start two days early, with action starting on January 11th.
