DEARBORN, Mich. – For the second straight season, Jason Penn (SR/Detroit, MI) has been named an NAIA Division II Men's Basketball All-American Honorable Mention, it was announced Thursday.

Penn, who was also a member of the All-WHAC First Team for a second consecutive season, helped lead the Wolverines to the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament championship and an appearance in the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball National Tournament for the first time in program history.

Penn finished with 571 points (16.8 points per game) in 2017-18 while adding a team-high 8.6 rebounds per game, all career highs. In the historic win at No. 1 Cornerstone University in the WHAC semifinals, Penn scored a career-high 38 points.

After four years as a Wolverine, Penn finished with 1,692 career points, fourth on the UM-Dearborn all-time scoring list. Penn's 293 rebounds in 2017-18 are the third best season for any student-athlete in UM-Dearborn men's basketball history.

The Wolverines finished with a record of 21-13 overall, the most wins in school history. The team fell in overtime in the opening round of the National Tournament.
