WOLVERINES STAY PERFECT IN WHAC WITH WIN OVER GRAY WOLVES

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team returned to the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse after six straight road games to take on Lourdes University in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest on Saturday.

The Wolverines pulled away in the second half to remain perfect in league play and atop the WHAC standings with a 72-52 win over the Gray Wolves. The win pushes UM-Dearborn 5-2 overall and 3-0 in the WHAC.

UM-Dearborn went on a 15-0 run between the end of the first half and the start of the second, capped off by 3-pointers from senior Gage Throgmorton (SR/White Lake, MI) and junior Xavier Crofford (JR/Detroit, MI). A 13-0 streak in the final minutes put the game away for the Wolverines.

Crofford led the Wolverines with a season-high 21 points on 9-of-13 shooting while hitting three 3-pointers and adding six rebounds.

Sophomore Cody Kegley (SO/Yale, MI) hit four 3-pointers, including three in the first three minutes of the game, on his way to a 12-point performance. Kegley added six rebounds and five assists. Throgmorton finished with 12 points, including three 3-pointers. Ashton Curd (SR/Detroit, MI) added 11 points and six assists.

The Wolverines finished 27-of-65 from the field, 12-of-34 from deep and 6-of-13 from the line while winning the rebounding battle 39-33.

Lourdes was led by Malik Thurman with 16 points and six rebounds off the bench.

The Wolverines hit the road for a crucial WHAC contest against an undefeated Indiana Tech team at 6 pm Tuesday in Fort Wayne, Ind.
