DEARBORN, Mich. - The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's lacrosse team is set for its third season as an NAIA-sponsored varsity program in 2018 and the Wolverines have released their upcoming schedule filled with several home contests and matchups with national powers.

The Wolverines will play their home games at the Detroit Country Day Fieldhouse in Beverly Hills, Mich., including five non-conference matchups against some of the nation's top NAIA teams. UM-Dearborn will compete against four of the eight teams that qualified for the 2017 NAIA Men's Lacrosse National Invitational.

The schedule also includes eight games against teams that closed 2017 either in the NAIA Men's Lacrosse Coaches' Top-10 Poll or teams that were receiving votes.

The 2018 season opens with a home game against NCAA Division III opponent Olivet College at 8 pm on February 9 at the DCD Fieldhouse. After a spring-break trip to Kentucky to take on Union College and the University of the Cumberlands, the Wolverines return to home to host five straight contests. The stretch includes non-conference games against Benedictine College (Kan.), Montreat College (N.C.), the University of St. Mary (Kan.) and Savannah College of Art and Design (Ga.).

The Wolverines open the 2018 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference season at home against 2017 NAIA Invitational qualifier Lawrence Technological University at 2 pm on March 31. Other WHAC home games include meetings with Aquinas College at 8 pm on April 11 and Indiana Institute of Technology at 8 pm on April 21. The game against Indiana Tech is scheduled to be Senior Night for the Wolverines.

UM-Dearborn spent most of the 2017 season receiving votes in the NAIA Poll, closing the season with a record of 5-6 overall and 2-5 in the WHAC. Head Coach Jason Watts returns for his 14th season leading UM-Dearborn, which will have plenty of experience with five seniors and five juniors on the roster.
