Garbacik's two goals lift Wolverines to sweep of Spartans

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's hockey hosted Michigan State University (D2) on Saturday afternoon at the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena.

The Wolverines completed the sweep of the Spartans by scoring a goal in each of the three periods improving their record to 6-0-0 on the season. 

Lexi Garbacik got the UM-Dearborn offense started by scoring at the 1:23 mark of the first period. Garbacik found the back of the net once again on the power play at the 13:51 mark of the second with an assist going to Odisoula Argyris, to extend the Wolverines lead.

UM-Dearborn pulled away with an early third-period goal by Kaylee Keledjian with assists going to Claudia Maguire and Garbacik.

Freshman goaltender Victoria Hahn made 12 saves in the winning effort for the Wolverines, earning her second straight shutout.

The Wolverines return to action against Adrian College at 7 pm Friday at the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena.
