UM-Dearborn remains perfect with 7-1 win

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's ice hockey team continued its opening-season success with an impressive win over Adrian College (D2) Sunday at the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena.

The Wolverines moved to 4-0-0 with a 7-1 win over a previously-undefeated Bulldog team, taking control in the first period and rolling the rest of the way.

UM-Dearborn got going early with a goal from Kaylee Keledjian, her sixth of the season on assists from Elizabeth Schaffran and Alexandria Robinson just 2:19 into the contest.

Robinson, making her debut for the Wolverines, recorded her first-career goal four minutes later with Brooke Spiegel and Piper Keranen getting the assists, while Odisoula Argyris made it 3-0 UM-Dearborn in the first with an assist from Kim Primeau.

Lexi Garbacik went top-shelf a goal for the Wolverines early in the second, with assists to Claudia Maguire and Schaffran. After Adrian got on the board, Maguire answered back with her first of two goals, while Isabella Welke netted her first-career score later in the second on the power play. Maguire found her second goal of the game in the third period.

UM-Dearborn outshot Adrian 39-19, while Victoria Hahn earned her fourth win of the season making 18 saves in net.

The Wolverines play a home-and-home series against Michigan State University (D2) starting at 8:30 pm Friday at Suburban Ice in East Lansing, Mich.

NOTE: Adrian did enter the game with a loss against a non-ACHA team earlier this season.
