Wolverines roll to 8-2 win at Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's hockey returned to action against Ohio State University in a nonconference matchup Sunday at OSU Ice Arena in Columbus, Ohio.

After giving up the first goal seven minutes in, the Wolverines offense responded with two goals four minutes apart to find themselves ahead 2-1 at the end of the first. UM-Dearborn went on to score three goals in each of the next two periods to earn an 8-2 victory.  

The win pushes UM-Dearborn to 2-0-0 overall to start the team's first season of competition.

The Wolverines were led by senior Claudia Maguire, who finished with a hat trick and had an assist as well. Kim Primeau and Kaylee Keledjian each scored twice, while Odisoula Argyris added a goal.

Primeau leads the Wolverines with six goals this season, while Maguire is second on the team with five.

Freshman goaltender Victoria Hahn made 47 saves in the winning effort for UM-Dearborn to improve to 2-0-0 in net this season.

The Wolverines host the first home game in program history when the welcome Ohio State at 1 pm on Sunday at the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena.
