Wolverines top Aquinas 3-1

BYRON CENTER, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's ice hockey team rebounded from its first loss of the season with a road win at Aquinas College on Sunday at the Southside Ice Arena in Byron Center, Mich.

The Wolverines scored two in the first period, and after Aquinas cut the deficit to one in the second, Claudia Maguire added to her team lead in goals with her 13th of the season in the third to secure a 3-1 win.

The victory is the 10th of the season for the No. 3 (West Region) Wolverines, who move to 10-1 overall.

Alexandria Robinson got the scoring started in the first on an assist from Piper Keranen and Brooke Spiegel. The UM-Dearborn lead was doubled by Spiegel from Kaylee Keledjian and Clare Murphy four minutes later. Maguire's goal in the third was assisted by Odisoula Agyris.

Tara Peladeau made 14 saves in net for UM-Dearborn.

The Wolverines re off until the New Year, as they look to avenge their lone loss of the season against the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor at 6:30 pm on Saturday, Jan. 11 at Yost Ice Arena in Ann Arbor, Mich.
