Maguire hat trick leads No. 2 Wolverines at Sault

SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's ice hockey team continued its tremendous first season with a win over Sault College Sunday in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.

After falling behind 2-1, the No. 2 (West Region) Wolverines scored six unanswered to earn a 7-2 win over the Cougars. The victory pushes UM-Dearborn to 13-1-0 overall this season.

Kaylee Keledjian got the scoring started for the Wolverines nine minutes into the first period. After Sault scored two straight, Alexandria Robinson tied it up on an assist from Claudia Maguire, the reigning UM-Dearborn Player of the Week.

Maguire gave UM-Dearborn the lead late in the first, with Kim Primeau getting the lone assist. Maguire added another in the second and completed a hat trick in the third. Hannah Martin and Primeau also scored goals as UM-Dearborn pulled away.

Victoria Hahn got the start in net for the Wolverines and picked up the win.

The Wolverines look to complete the series sweep against the Cougars at 2 pm Monday in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.
