DETROIT, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn (2-13) men's basketball team had one of their best shooting nights of the season en route to a 93-78 victory over Penn State Schuylkill (5-9) on Monday (Dec. 19). Elwood Tomlinson led all scorers with 29 points inside the Matthaei Center.
UM-Dearborn Leaders
Tomlinson scored 29 points on 10-of-15 shooting and 5-of-7 from behind the arc. Thomas Dillard IV continued his hot stretch scoring 21 points on 9-of-12 shooting. The freshman hauled in three rebounds and added two steals to his final line. Vyshonn Munson shot 3-of-5 from behind the arc to help him get 13 points and collected 11 rebounds to give him a double-double. Maurice Anderson rounded out the Wolverines in double figures with 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting.
Penn State Schuylkill Leaders
Andrew Sepp led Schuylkill with 14 points on 4-of-6 shooting from behind the arc. Pau Pumarola added 12 points and seven rebounds, while Dashawn Dixon finished just shy of a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.
Inside the Game
Dearborn was on fire in the first half shooting 55.9% from the field (19-34) and 63.6% from behind the arc (7-11). Elwood Tomlinson led the Wolverines with 19 points in just 15 minutes. The hot shooting helped Dearborn jump out to a 50-37 lead heading into the break.
Dillard IV was the star of the second half as he poured in 15 points in 15 minutes. Dearborn shot 51.5% from the field and outrebounded Schuylkill 23-20 to close the contest.
