Wolverines Fall Against Aquinas Despite Late Surge

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn (1-13, 0-8) men's basketball team came up short on Saturday (Dec. 10) against Aquinas College (5-7, 3-5). The Wolverines made a late surge to keep the game close, but the Saints prevailed 70-61.

 

UM-Dearborn Leaders

Elwood Tomlinson tied for a game-high 18 points as he finished 6-of-22 from the field and 4-of-11 behind the arc. Thomas Dillard IV recorded his first career double-double as he scored 13 points and secured 11 rebounds for the Wolverines. Maurice Anderson rounded out the Wolverines in double digits, finishing with 11 points and seven rebounds. 

 

Aquinas Leaders 

Menalito McGee scored 18 points to lead the Saints. McGee finished 7-of-14 from the floor and converted four of the eight threes the Saints had on the afternoon. Gabe Overway was the only other Saint in double figures finishing with 11 points. The Saints outrebounded the Wolverines 43-40 and dished out five more assists than the Wolverines.

The Wolverines travel to Ferris State on Saturday (Dec. 17) for an exhibition contest at 7 pm.
