Wolverines Lose at Concordia 95-72

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The University of Michigan-Dearborn (4-17, 1-12) men's basketball team lost their third straight to conference foe the Concordia University Cardinals (7-13, 7-7), 95-72. The Wolverines kept it close early, then with the game tied 20-20, the Cardinals went up by three at the 7:55 mark of the first half and never looked back. 

 

UM-Dearborn Leaders

 Freshman guard Ibrahim Mohamed led the Wolverines with 18 points, with freshman forward Thomas Dilliard IV pouring in 17 of their own. Sophomore forward Jimmy Breaux added a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Junior guard  Vyshonn Munson capped off the scoring leaders with 11 points. 

 

Concordia Leaders

 Zachary Johnson had 27 points for the home team in the win. Matt Lockhart had a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Nate Brighton had a double-double of his own with 14 points and 12 boards, while Kip French added 18 points. 

 

Inside the Game 

 Fouls and poor shooting were too much for the Wolverines to overcome, as they trailed by as many as 25 late in the second half. Even with four players scoring in double figures, the Wolverines only managed to shoot 39.7% (29-73) from the field, including 22.2% (4-18) from 3-point territory. In addition, 22 team fouls added to the Wolverines' long day, and Concordia made them pay, shooting 20-29 from the stripe. The Cardinals shot 51.7% (31-60) from the field and 46.4% (13-28) behind the arc.
