Anderson Nets Career-High, Wolverines Fall Against Rochester

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich.- The University of Michigan-Dearborn (4-18, 1-12) men's basketball team lost to the Rochester University Warriors (15-6, 10-4) 111-88, in Rochester Hills on Thursday night (Jan. 26). It was the Wolverines fourth loss in a row- all were conference matchups. The Wolverines never led in the game, falling behind 0-4 early in a high-scoring affair. Dearborn was able to tie the game at 22-22 with 9:00 to play in the first half, but that was as close as they would get.

 

UM-Dearborn Leaders

Sophomore Maurice Anderson had a strong game scoring 33 points on 4-9, shooting from behind the arc, and adding 11 rebounds. Sophomore Jimmy Breaux poured in 11 points of his own, while Senior Elwood Tomlinson contributed 16 points off the bench. Freshman Thomas Dillard IV led the Wolverines with 11 rebounds. Sophomore Troy Campbell dished out eight assists in the contest. 

 

Rochester University Leaders

Brandon Michrina scored 21 points to lead the way for the Warriors. Anthony Ukaj and Gunner Walters both had 16 points, with Walters adding five assists. James Ballard led Rochester in rebounds with eight and finished the game with 14 points off the bench. 

 

Inside the Game

Dearborn scored 88 points, including an impressive 18-19 from the free throw line, but could not contain the hot shooting of the Warriors as they broke the century mark scoring 111 points on 54.4% shooting from the field, to the Wolverines' 36.7% shooting.

Dearborn will host Siena Heights at the Matthaei Center in Detroit, Mich on Saturday (Jan. 28). Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
