Wells, Williams, and Taylor highlight WHAC award winners

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn Athletic Department is proud to announce the members of the women's basketball team that were awarded Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference honors for the 2021-22 season.

The WHAC released the full results today with Wolverines Ro'Zhane Wells, Cydney Williams, and Mariah Taylor all being named to Second Team All-Conference.

Wells averaged 10.6 points, 3.4 assists, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game. The Ypsilanti, Mich. native was also named to the All-Defensive Team and the All-Academic Team.

Williams averaged 10.4 points and 7.0 rebounds, while averaging 1.3 blocks per game. The Canton, Mich. native was also named WHAC Player of the Week during the 2021-22 season.

Taylor, the Rochester Hills native, led the Wolverines with 11.5 points per game with a season-high 23 points in a two-point win over Cornerstone University.

The three seniors were a part of the 2018-19 team that went 24-7 overall and 15-5 in the WHAC, the most wins in a season in program history.

Rounding out the WHAC award winners are Maya Barakat, who was announced the All-Freshman Team, averaging 8.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks per game, starting 26 out of the 27 games she appeared in. Keira Callison, Abby Fullerton, and Jadyn Smith complete the list of All-Academic Team members, while Maricela Macias was the team's Champions of Characters representative.
