OTTAWA LAKE, Mich. – Mahmoud Saad continued his hot start to the fall season for the University of Michigan-Dearborn men's golf team.

Saad tied for sixth Tuesday (Sept. 14) at the Lourdes Invitational by shooting a four-over-par 76 at The Legacy Golf Course. The sophomore from Dearborn Divine Child paced the Wolverines to a fifth-place finish in the event won by Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference rival Siena Heights.

Junior Ryan Gniewek (Hartland High) and senior Matthew Kosiba (New Boston) finished tied for 26th by shooting 81.

Freshman Ali Elhage (82), sophomore Brandon Tirador (83), junior Nick Metaxas (85), senior Alex Braid (86) and senior Mike Mercier (90) rounded out the scoring for UM-Dearborn coach Howard Inch.

Saad was the medalist Sept. 4 at Olivet College's Lou Collins Memorial Tour. He birdied the playoff hole to finish first after shooting a blistering 68 over the final 18 holes of that two-day tourney.
