Brock, West lead list of Wolverine WHAC awards

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn Athletic Department is proud to announce the members of the men's ice hockey team that were awarded Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference honors for the 2021-22 season.

The WHAC released the full results today with Wolverines Billy Brock and Brendan West being named to First Team All-Conference and Blake Petterle being named to the Second Team All-Conference.

Senior Billy Brock had a tremendous season, finishing as the Wolverines leader in goals (23), assists (40), and points (63). The Brownstown, Mich. native was also named WHAC Offensive Player of the Week, while serving as the team's assistant captain.

Junior Brendan West was a mainstay on the Wolverines top line all season, finishing the 2021-22 season with 21 goals, 34 assists, and 55 points which put him second on the team in all three categories. The Plymouth, Mich. native was also named WHAC Offensive Player of the Week, while serving as the team's assistant captain. West was also named to the 2021-22 WHAC All-Academic Team.

Freshman Blake Petterle finished a strong first season with the Wolverines where he registered two goals and four assists to total six points. The Grosse Ile, Mich. native was relied upon early in his collegiate career logging important minutes in crucial situations such as power-play and penalty kill.

Completing the list of awards are Adam Groat, Silas Johnson, Mathieu LaForest, Jared Lee, Rhett Limback, Kayden Pickles, and Eric Polzin all being named to the All-Academic Team, while Limback was the team's Champions of Character representative.
