Tirador, Saad, Kosiba Finish 1-2-3 for Wolverines

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's golf team placed fourth in the 12-team Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Preview Monday (Sept. 27) at the Bedford Valley Golf Course.

The Wolverines totaled 311 strokes to finish one ahead of Madonna and one behind Aquinas in a tight pack after the winning Lawrence Tech (296) and second-place Northwestern Ohio (303) teams.

The UM-Dearborn team scoring also was close for Coach Howard Inch's squad.

Sophomore Brandon Tirador (Livonia Franklin) carded a four-over-par 76 to finish tied for eighth overall.

Classmate Mahmoud Saad (Dearborn Divine Child) was right on his heels with a 77, and senior Matthew Kosiba (New Boston Huron) came in with a 78. Then it was junior Nick Metaxas (Dearborn Divine Child) scoring an 80 and his classmate, Ryan Gniewek (Hartland High), getting an 82.

Thomas Delmas (Lawrence Tech) and Tom Pritchett (Northwestern Ohio) finished tied for first at 71.

Lawrence Tech defeated UM-Dearborn, 5-0, in stroke play Round 2.
