UPLAND, Ind. – Vito Serra tied the score in the 83rd minute for the University of Michigan-Dearborn men's soccer team, but Taylor University pulled out a 2-1 victory Saturday night (Sept. 11) with a goal four minutes later by Brian Matipa.
Serra, a senior midfielder from Macomb Dakota High, scored an unassisted goal as the Wolverines outshot Taylor (4-0), 9-7, in a spirited second half for Coach Worteh Sampson's team.
UM-Dearborn has dropped five consecutive games after opening the season with a win over Albion.
Wolverine junior goalie Kevin Kollovozi (Livonia Stevenson) made five saves, and allowed a goal in the fifth minute of play to Quinn Partain.
