OXFORD, Ohio – The University of Michigan- Dearborn (10-8-2) women's ice hockey team traveled to Oxford, Ohio, to take on The University of Miami-Ohio RedHawks for the first game of the series.

The Wolverines struck first when Andi Evers buried a rebound into the open net late in the first period to give the team a 1-0 lead going into the second period.

The RedHawks tied the game at one a-piece in the second period, but Ashley Savage lit the lamp to put the Wolverines back in the lead. The second period ended with the Wolverines 2-1.

After a hard-fought third period, the RedHawks buried their second goal of the night during a scramble in front of the net with 40 seconds left in the period.

Unable to come back late, the third period ended in a 2-2 tie, and the game went into overtime.
