STATE COLLEGE, Pa.— The University of Michigan-Dearborn Women's Ice Hockey team returned to action, heading out to State College for a weekend series with the Penn State Nittany Lions this past Friday and Saturday.

In the first game of the series, the Wolverines would find themselves down by a goal after the first. However, UM-Dearborn would respond as Madison Schroeder would find the back of the net with the lone assist going to Samantha Sensoli. Penn State would retake the lead on the power play late in the second period and would extend its lead to two as Cammi Salaski would add her second goal of the game. The Wolverines would press late as Cadence Pero would score the first goal of her collegiate career with three minutes remaining, yet the Nittany Lions would escape with the 3-2 win.

In the second game, UM-Dearborn would jump to an early one-goal lead as Charlise Wharram connected from a pass from Pero. Penn State would respond with two goals before Schroeder would tie the game late on the power play to force overtime. Zoe Zaifman would get the lone assist on the play. The two sides would play just over four minutes of extra time before Salaski would clinch the win and the series sweep for PSU.

Victoria Hahn would start both games for the Wolverines, making 17 saves in game one, following up with 14 saves in game two.

UM-Dearborn will look to bounce back as they host Adrian College (D2) for the home opener on Friday, October 14th, at the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena.
