DEARBORN, Mich.— The University of Michigan-Dearborn Women's Ice Hockey team returned to action with a CCWHA matchup against the Michigan State Spartans this past Saturday afternoon.

The Wolverines special teams was on full display, connecting twice on the power play and adding a short-handed tally, on their way to a 4-1 win over MSU. The victory improves UM-Dearborn to 7-3-0 overall and 4-3-0 in conference play.

Andi Evers continued her strong play, banging in a rebound off of a scramble in front of the Spartans net. Samantha Sensoli and Madison Schroeder would assist on the goal by Evers. Sensoli would find the back of the net with a shorthanded effort early in the second as the Wolverines managed to kill off two separate two-man advantages for Michigan State. Vivian Kowalske would extend the UM-Dearborn lead under two minutes into the third period with a power-play tally from Captain Isabella Welke. The Spartans would trim the Wolverine lead back to two, however, Mali Sise would ice the game for the Wolverines with an unassisted effort as she cut back to her forehand, depositing the puck above the MSU goaltender's right shoulder.

Tara Peladeau improved to her record to 6-0-0 on the, making 12 saves on the night with seven of the saves coming in the second period when the Wolverines ran into penalty trouble.

The two clubs will wrap-up the weekend series at 1:15 tomorrow afternoon at Munn Ice Arena in East Lansing, Mich.
